What we did today:
Shape of next week:
Wednesday: Students used this block to read pages 56-110 and work on assignment #2
Thursday: Students also had another work block to read, do their assignment, and ask me or their group members any questions they may have about completing their assignments. I also completed one on one chats with most students. We were able to mark their assignment #1 together, give feedback, and make sure everyone is clear on what assignment they are completing for tomorrow. Reminder: Assignment and Discussion #2 are happening tomorrow, Friday May 26. It is good to be back and was so nice to see you all today. Here is what we did in English 12 today and some updates for the week ahead:
Shape of the week: Tuesday: Assignment #1 and discussion #1 Wednesday: Work block to read pages 56-110 and work on assignment #2 Thursday: Work block OR possibly Hamlet research presentations Friday: Assignment #2 due and Discussion #2 Trigger Warning: The section "Wab's coming to story" depicts a physical and sexual assault. While this book is approved for grades 10-12, and the scene is not described in detail, it is suggested. This may be disturbing for some students. Please see your counsellor if this brings up any emotions/or if you'd like to talk to someone about what you are feeling. Today in English 12, students worked on the research for their Hamlet essays. Reminder that this is the last day for research and students will be working on their essays tomorrow. All research notes should be completed and printed for tomorrow's class.
Here are the notes on how to outline and structure your essay that I shared on Thursday:
